Best Equipment for a Residential Remodel

Indoor scissors, compact excavators, dump trailers, and when a telehandler actually belongs on a house remodel in Utah.

Most house remodels in Utah County need an indoor scissor, a dump trailer, and maybe a compact excavator for the addition. They do not need an 80 ft boom. The expensive mistake is a 26 ft scissor that will not fit the door, or a wheeled skid steer across a finished driveway the owner still lives in.

Interiors

13–19 ft electric scissors for living spaces and garages. Mast lifts when the elevator or floor load is ugly. Measure doors before you order 26 ft because the great room “feels tall.”

Additions and yards

E35-class mini for footings and sewer taps. CTL if you still care about the lawn. Dump trailer for demo — roofing tear-off is heavier than it looks.

Second-story material

A compact 19 ft telehandler can feed an addition if you can get it on the lot. A 44 ft 8k is a neighbor event. Many remodels are still a conveyor and a crew.

What neighbors notice

Diesel RT scissors in a cul-de-sac at 7 a.m. are how you get HOA calls. Electric indoor machines exist. Use them.

FAQ

Will a 19 ft scissor fit in a garage?

Often, if the door and slab allow. Confirm stowed height and width. 13–14 ft class is the elevator/garage special.

Do I need a boom for exterior paint?

Two-story with obstacles: small articulating or towable boom. One-story: ladders or a scissor on a driveway slab. Do not put a slab scissor in the flower bed.

Can you deliver to a cul-de-sac?

Usually. Tell us about basketball hoops, parked cars, and overhead lines the day before.
