Equipment for Painting and Drywall

Electric scissors vs boom lifts for interior finishes, churches, and commercial paint — platform size, overspray, and finished floors.

Finish work wants a big platform, non-marking tires, and no exhaust. That is a scissor until the wall is not over the machine. Painters who rent booms for a hotel corridor pay extra for a basket they cannot stage a 5-gallon bucket on. Painters who rent 19 ft scissors for a 30 ft sanctuary also pay — in ladders from the midrail.

Corridors and rooms

Narrow 19 ft scissors. Measure doors. Mast lifts for punch-list in occupied space. Protect floors; non-marking is the point.

Tall volumes

Churches, gyms, atriums: 26–32 ft scissors if you can stay under the work. Articulating booms when you must reach over pews or stairs. Do not drive a scissor up a sanctuary slope.

Exteriors

Booms. RT scissors only for straight-up work on a decent pad. Wind and overspray onto cars is your HOA letter, not ours.

Height first

Measure. Then (801) 880-8800. 19 vs 26 vs boom is not a personality test.

FAQ

Can two finishers share a 19 ft?

If capacity allows with mud, paint, and people. Narrow decks get tight. Standard 46 in decks are happier for two — if they fit the door.

Will you get mad about overspray on the machine?

We will charge you to clean it. Mask the machine. That is cheaper than a cleaning bill.

Rolling scaffold instead?

For some corridors, yes. Once you are over a scissor’s cheap day rate and you have height, the scissor usually wins on safety and speed.
