Solar is pallets of glass and people at the array. Ground-mount wants telehandlers or loaders on farm ground. Rooftop wants a charted way to get pallets up and a boom or scissor for the crew. Panels do not like wind, and neither do aerials — schedule is part of the rental.

Ground-mount
Telehandler or CTL for posts, ballast, and pallets. Mini excavator if you are trenching conduit. Soft agricultural ground wants tracks, not a warehouse forklift.
Rooftop
Material via telehandler if the chart and the roof edge allow — otherwise crane. People via boom for walls and parapets, scissors only on a suitable deck or ground slab. Do not walk panels up a ladder because the telehandler was a day late.
Wind and winter
Utah wind events shut both panel setting and booms down. Light towers only help if you are working a night window that is actually calm.

Can a scissor go on a metal roof?
Almost never as a default. Roof loading, slope, and fall protection are a specialty plan. Ground-based booms are the usual people machine.
How much telehandler for panel pallets?
Use the pallet weight and the reach to the roof, not the panel count. 8k 44 ft is common; compact 19 ft is for small, close jobs.
