A barn is a metal building with worse ground and a longer driveway. Pad week is a CTL, a mini, and compaction. Post-frame wants an auger or a mini for holes, then a telehandler for trusses and girts. Tracks, not a warehouse forklift. Import base, roll it, then stop pretending a dirt lot is a floor. Soft irrigated ground will eat an 8k telehandler that looked fine on the brochure.
Posts and iron
Auger on a T550 in clean soil; mini in cobble. 8k 44 ft telehandler is the usual setter; 10k 56 ft when bays are tall or you are stuck in the county road. If the kit says crane, rent a crane.
People on the wall
Articulating or straight boom from eave height. RT scissors for straight-up interior bolt-up on a decent pad. Indoor slab scissors stay on the truck until there is a slab.
FAQ
Is this the same as a metal building in a business park?

Can I set trusses with a tractor I already have?
If the chart and the insurance say so. Many ag crews still want the telehandler for the one day the kit lands. Cheap insurance is not a method.
Power on a rural site?
