Equipment for Metal Building Erection

Telehandlers, boom lifts, and RT scissors for pre-engineered metal buildings — what to rent for columns, girts, and sheeting in Utah.

PEMBs are a telehandler-and-boom sport. Columns and framed openings want a charted telehandler. Sheeting and trim want people in a boom or on an RT scissor if the work is over the machine. Trying to sheet a 24 ft eave from a 19 ft indoor scissor on dirt is how the week gets long.

Raising iron

8k 44 ft is the common start; 10k 56 ft when bays are tall or the crane is not coming. A rated tag line plan still beats a hero pick at the edge of the chart.

People on the wall

Straight booms for open walls, articulating when you are working around the building already standing. RT scissors for interior mezzanine and straight-up bolt-up on a decent pad.

Pad conditions

If the floor is not poured, slab scissors stay on the truck. RT equipment or wait. Wind on open steel is a shutdown, not a challenge.

Package the week

Telehandler plus boom is the usual pair. Call (801) 880-8800 with eave height and bay spacing.

FAQ

Do we still need a crane?

Some buildings yes. A telehandler is not a 20-ton crane. If the erector’s plan says crane, rent the crane.

Indoor scissor after the slab?

Yes — swap off RT when the floor is real. That cutover is a common missed save.

Glazing kit on the boom?

If you are hanging panels and the capacity allows. Tell us the panel weight.

Need a quote on the right class?

Call or text — we'll match height, width, and capacity to the job instead of renting you a bigger machine than you need.
