What Equipment Do I Need to Build a Sports Court?

A sport court is a very flat patio with a hoop. The machines that matter are the ones that make the pad: mini, CTL, plate or roller. A 10-foot hoop is not a boom-lift job. A 20-foot backyard lighting pole might be. Modular tile systems still need a compacted base. Pouring a post-tension court is a slab spec, not a new fleet.

Typical pairing

New pad: E35 + CTL + roller/plate + dump trailer. Existing slab: maybe nothing from the dirt fleet — just a scissor if you are hanging lights. Keep telehandlers off a fresh court.

Flat is a compaction word

If the ball should bounce, the base has to be tight and the grade honest. Roll the field, plate the edges. See pour a slab and compact subgrade. Do not “send it” on native clay.

Hoops and fences

Goal posts are footings — auger or mini. Windscreens and tall nets may want a scissor on the finished slab, not a boom in the neighbor’s flowers.

Lights

If you are adding poles, that is signage/parking-lot logic: boom plus a footing. If you are hanging a fixture on the shop wall, a scissor or a small boom from the pad.
