What Equipment Do I Need to Install a Playground?

Mini excavators, plates, and telehandlers for commercial or HOA playgrounds — footings, safety surface, and setting structures without wrecking the park.

A playground is footings, a structure, and a safety surface that has to pass a spec. E35-class minis dig the piers. Plates compact the aggregate under pour-in-place or engineered fiber. A compact telehandler or CTL with forks sets panels if you cannot carry them. Booms are only for shade sails and lights. Do not roller-compact the fall zone into a parking lot.

Footings

Auger in clean soil, mini in cobble. Depth follows the manufacturer and frost. 811 — parks are full of unmarked irrigation.

Surface

Aggregate base wants a plate. The safety surface on top has its own spec. A rammer on poured-in-place rubber is how you own a redo.

Neighbors and turf

Tracks. Protect existing lawn. HOA parks notice diesel at 7 a.m. more than contractors do.

FAQ

Do you rent post-hole rammers for playground spec?

We rent plates and rammers. Follow the playground manufacturer’s compaction spec, not a driveway habit.

School occupied during install?

Fencing, electric machines where you can, and a delivery window. We will match the machine; you own the campus rules.

Residential backyard set?

Often just an E35 or even an auger plus a trailer. Do not copy the commercial package onto a swing set.

Need a quote on the right class?

Call or text — we'll match height, width, and capacity to the job instead of renting you a bigger machine than you need.
